Saddle Jig by Bruce Dickey

Here is a little tool created by Bruce Dickey, it's to adjust the saddle height slightly, or a lot to accommodate a piezo pickup, real simple.
Saddle Holder
This is a saddle holder for sanding away and truing the bottom of a saddle.  Determine how much to remove from the saddle, put shims on either side of the saddle.  Insert the holder over the saddle and tighten the bolts in place.  Move to the sander and sand off the amount of the saddle exposed on the bottom.  No more tears, or sanded fingertips, just a perfectly square, flat and true saddle adjustment.

This shot shows the even exposure, three business cards equals .030
You sand until you feel no saddle and just smooth oak.
No fingers anywhere near that rotating grit.

Simple task, great little tool, almost free, look in your junk box.
I do need one more wing nut, if you have one. 1/4 inch.
(notice in the first pic, the little wooden spacer which is glued in place)
