Luthier's Nut Shaping Holder
Helps you get a grip on your nuts.
After the success of the saddle sanding jig, I put my
mind on nuts. If there was a way to get a grip on those slippery little
boogers, it would sure be nice. Well, here is a scrap of walnut ready to
serve at a moment's notice. Insert marked nut blank and sand to all
marked surfaces. Look carefully at the tiny notch on the square ended
side, that stops the bone nut from retreating and from easily popping out.
Finish your nut surfaces with a small bastard file, 320 grit paper and some
Menzerna on the buffer. All nice and shiny nut, after all, isn't that
what we all want?

Holder was cut on a Delta 14" Bandsaw in just a
jiffy. A wingnut would be handy.
